About the International Special Events Society
The International Special Events Society (ISES) was founded in 1987 to foster enlightened performance through education while promoting ethical conduct. ISES works to join professionals to focus on the "event as a whole" rather than its individual parts. ISES has grown to involve nearly 4,000 members active in 38 chapters throughout the world. Membership brings together professionals from a variety of special events disciplines including caterers, meeting planners, decorators, event planners, audio-visual technicians, party and convention coordinators, educators, journalists, hotel sales managers and many more professional disciplines. The solid peer network ISES provides helps special events professionals produce outstanding results for clients while establishing positive working relationships with other event colleagues.

About ISES Vancouver
ISES Vancouver Chapter (Formerly ISES Pacific Northwest) was founded in 1993. Its membership represents skilled professionals from British Columbia, with membership open to all regions of BC.
The ISES Vancouver Board of Directors has developed vision, goals, and objectives for 2006 - 2007. This year's events and activities will be designed to:
- Add value to membership
- Increase the profile and build awareness of ISES Vancouver
- Offer exceptional education, resource development, and networking opportunities
- Increase membership by increasing opportunities for participation
What's happening this year?
The schedule of ISES Vancouver events for the upcoming year is in the works and will be posted to the "Upcoming Events" section.
Plans include bedazzling social events, fresh and meaningful educational components, certification and beginner level educational workshops, as well as the annual Christmas party and Buffet Blowout - which promises to be the best ever!
What do ISES Vancouver members want from their membership?
To help answer this question, a survey was sent out to all chapter members in the summer of 2004. Responses have been received and are available to ISES members. The feedback has been instrumental in determining the direction of the chapter.
Continued Improvement
There are several new and exciting initiatives to continue improving the chapter. The website, newsletter, programs, and educational components are all being revamped in an effort to deliver more member benefits.
